Time to move on from Venice after three wonderful days, busy even in late March and before Easter. We were up in time to take the longer vaporetto line 1 through the Grand Canal to Santa Lucia station for the 09:56 railjet to Vienna. This was the only time the ticket inspector asked to see our reservations, a couple of other travellers in the coach had to buy them from her. Other than the Bernina, this was the most scenic journey, due in at 17:36 but about 20 minutes late.
We stayed again at Prize by Radisson Vienna City, in Karl-Popper-Straße close to the station at € 371 for two rooms for two nights.

Sunday was my birthday, we spent it with one of Christine’s Austrian relatives, walking around and visiting cafes.
