Soria

No rush to get up early today, after breakfast we walked to the tourist information centre for a free city map. Google maps wasn’t much use with the tall buildings confusing the GPS.

We passed the Concatedral de San Pedro y Claustro Románico on our way across the river to visit the Monastery of San Juan de Duero. All that remains of the monastery is the13th century Romanesque Cloister of Romanesque, Mudejar and Sicilian Arabic influences and the 12th century church, but worth the one euro admission fee. We walked along the river bank to the Ermita de San Saturio and back to the apartment for a very late lunch.

The dusty bikes were treated to a quick clean and oil and we walked into the centre after dinner. A lively brass band entertained in Plaza Mayor, people sat outside bars and cafes in the warm air, all this on a Thursday.
