Sarah was due to arrive mid afternoon so we had time for more shopping and then sought out the Arab baths, which were in their original state. We had a late lunch of vegetable curry after Sarah arrived and then sat enjoying the sunshine on the apartment’s roof terrace.

We were hoping to look inside the cathedral but it was closed. We continued wandering the streets of the old city and called in on an old family run cafe and heladeria which had started in the 18th century as a horchateria. It was small and busy with locals so we had a short wait for a table. The deliciously fresh almond ice cream was well worth the delay, we also had a wonderfully rich hot chocolate made without milk and not too sweet. Having eaten well during the day, we were satisfied with a snack and cake in the apartment in the evening.
