A relaxing day began with us walking down to the lighthouse, a major feature of the coast along the sea front, very hot until we met the breeze by the shore. We were surprised how many people were walking and sunbathing, including some naturists. We completed a circuit which brought us back through the extensive dune system with its palm trees. Bizarrely there were numerous single men sauntering around naked, all middle aged and paunchy, we may have stumbled on a gay cruising area. The signs at the beginning had implored us to keep to the paths but being sand, there weren’t any! The lighthouse guided us back, passing a group of camels in a compound. The owners hadn’t troubled to remove their tourist seats, they were chained together in a line looking sad.
We paused for refreshments on the way back and spoke to an older German tourist, a big Bayern Munchen fan. We enjoyed a swim back at Fortuny, cooked and ate, sitting outside with local wine.
