We were up at 07:00 even though we were tired after yesterday’s climbs, breakfasted and bought bread at a panaderia with a cafeteria and set off for Ardales, very easily cycling at first, going so well that we thought we’d be in Ardales by noon. Halfway there, we encountered a nasty headwind and the final climb up to the town was very steep. We checked into the spacious apartment, lunched and walked up to a chapel at the top of a hill to admire the view and then down to the Roman bridge, calling at the supermercado for tonight’s food on the way back. The weather was much cooler today, around 20 degrees maximum.
