A day in Sevilla

The Alcazar
The Alcazar

Today we queued up in the heat to visit the Alcazar Real, an amazing palace and every bit as grand as Granada’s Alhambra, fantastic Moorish architecture and restful gardens. It was well past our normal lunchtime when we emerged to cross over into the Triana barrio in search of somewhere to eat, settling for tapas and garbanzos and spinach with pisto. After walking around the streets we were soon in need of shade and refreshment so called in on the Hotel Alphonso XIII for squeezed orange juice in their lovely internal patio, protected by an awning. We cooked for ourselves at the hostel then went for a stroll in the park. The aircon was working tonight, a more comfortable night.
