Christine had never been to Durham so we spent a leisurely day in the city. A Magna Carta exhibition was on, one of a series of events to mark its 8th centenary. Durham Cathedral holds one of the five surviving copies but it is not normally on public display. The informative exhibition covered other lesser known declarations of rights so we learned a lot. We also looked round the cathedral and strolled along the river. Back at Langley Park we sat in the garden enjoying the warm sunshine, such a contrast to yesterday’s cold rain.
