The info in the room stated breakfast was served from 08:30 but the receptionist said 07:30. So we went down optimistically at the earlier time to find a good selection of fruit, cereal, yogurt and scrambled eggs, the best breakfast so far.
We bought bread on the way out of town, most of the climbing was achieved in the morning but the headwind that had been a feature of every day since the weather turned hot was stronger today. It was actually a couple of degrees cooler.

We stopped for lunch at a picnic area before Herrera de los Navarros, about halfway through our journey, then in the village centre to refill our bottles at the water fountain. It was an enjoyable ride, but we were glad to reach our apartment and escape the wind. After a cup of tea and a shower, we called in at the local shop for dinner ingredients, surprised at feeling a few drops of rain as we returned. In the evening it rained heavily, the first since leaving Santander.
